10/11/2015 0 Comments What 4-H means to me.There comes a time during the year when all you want is that one week of summer full of excitement. The Fair! To 4-Hers the fair is more than just a place to go one day of the summer, it is a second home, a lifestyle, and the best week of the year. 4-H teaches many things, it teaches us how to teach others, it allows us to make new friends and they dont just have to be from your club, they can be from any club and each 4-Her knows the dedication and hardwork each project takes. It also teaches us the importance of having fun, during the week of fair it is not just about the show day, but the fun and work that gets put into your project, it is about having fun with friends and enjoying the fair alltogether. It also teaches you how to lose and yes it is dissapointing but there is a lot of losing in life and 4-H teaches you how to handle it gracefully, dust yourself off and move on to apprieciate the wins even more. It taught me that my best can always be better and that we are lucky to have the amazing volunteers, leaders, and those who work hard to make the fair a reality who invest their minds, lives, and talents into the fair. I know some of my favorite memories are at the fair and it has taught me some of the most valuable lessons in life. I want to thank the Elkhart County 4-H Fair for forever being a huge part and passion in my life, but also the fair board for being my second family and making the fair become a reality. Without you the fair would not be what it is today, thank you for investing your heart and time to make a fair that makes an impact on everyone who visits. I highly recommend joining 4-H today!
