A couple months ago I saw an Instagram page filled with hand-made jewelry and I fell in LOVE.
Jewelry is something I love only IF I can find the perfect piece. I am super picky when it comes to pieces, I love simple pieces that are classy and you could wear everyday.
Needless to say I found the perfect pieces that are handmade and created by an incredible woman named Meg Goodman.
Her pieces that she creates are stunning, unique, and breathtaking. She combines classy, delicate, and charming all in one. Not to mention she is the definition of a BOSS BABE!
Meg Goodman is 18 years old and attends Auburn University. She was raised in Atlanta, GA and has the cutest dog in the world named Ripley. She has been running Beaded by Meg for 3 years now and it is her pride and joy!
Meg learned how to make jewelry in 6th grade when she had to do a project on Renaissance jewelry. She bought herself a book from Michael's and made a prototype of what she thought the jewelry would look like. The necklace kept falling apart the entire day of our "Renaissance fair" but, at least it was a start.
She was getting bored of the jewelry in stores and that everyone had the same things. One day She made a piece of jewelry going into her sophomore year of high school. She wore it to school the next day and almost 30 people bought one from her, she had to keep a running list on her phone! And from there she created the Instagram and Etsy page that you now know today as Beaded by Meg.
" Most of my inspiration comes from elements in nature such as the moon, stars, rock, or bone. When I decide to design a necklace it isn't a thinking down and sitting process. It's almost as if it just comes to me and I know what my next piece is supposed to look like. "
" I have always loved creating jewelry from stretchy bead bracelets in kindergarten to really crazy looking earrings I would make for my mom (she has always supported my jewelry endeavors). It is so rewarding to make jewelry now. Each piece I make is made for someone to be proud of and show off their style. It's super crazy how things go from selling necklaces at school to selling worldwide and to boutiques across the country. "
A classic favorite of mine is "Coco"which has the chanel logo; it's very classy and dainty! Plus you get lots of bang for your buck. Another necklace I find myself wearing all the time is either the "Disco" or the "Gold/ Gunmetal Circle Dangle Choker". These necklaces are perfect for layering or just to throw on with a t-shirt!
