We all dream of the perfect man to complete our lives and love us. I was always hoping he might come around, since I was a little girl I always dreamed of what my wedding might be like, and who I would marry. Although I always questioned if I would find that one guy to complete one thing I always dreamed about. It has to do with my little arm... Silly right? No. To me it was a very serious issue and I had to find the one guy that would accomplish this task on his own without me telling him.
I wanted to find a guy that would hold my little arm as if it were a normal hand. You may think this is so simple, or say that cannot be that hard to find. Think again..
I remember my first crush I was in third grade, silly to think about now, but the biggest thing I looked for was first that he loved God and second that he accepted me for who God created me to be.
Girls I can not promise you that there will not be heartbreak, tears, unhappiness, and nights when you want to give up your search, I can't promise you that there will not be a guy that s going to make fun of you because you are different or because he wants to sound cool around his friends and uses the most obvious option to do so. I have been there I promise it will end and whatever boy says mean comments or does not accept you for who you are he is not worth your times, or your tears. I can promise you this... One day God will show you and give you a man that will love you for who you were born to be, it may be 20 years from now but God will show you.
For an example from my life, my sophomore year of high school I liked this guy, but I found out he had been saying very nasty things and making fun of me because I only had one arm, this made me very upset. At first I did not understand, I wore my prosthetic for a week after to look "normal" until my brothers girlfriend told me that he was not worth my tears or time. I realized that it was a great lesson and that one day I would find someone who accepted and loved me for who I am. Someone who would hold my arm as if it wee my real hand.
I am 17 and I have found a man who loves me for who I am and holds my little arm just as if it were my right arm, when I go through times of questioning my arm he is there to listen and tell me I am beautiful. Girls I promise you that you will find someone, just trust in Gods plan and know that he will always have a plan for your life. Also girls, everyday remind yourself you ARE beautiful and perfect just as God has made you.
