One day I am going to be a mum. One day I am going to face what I believe is going to be the biggest one arm challenge I will ever have to overcome. I don't question if I will be a good mum because I know I will be a great one! But I do worry.
I worry about how I will do things. Like, how will I fold up a stroller or work the car seat when you need to hands to press down on the two buttons. Or how will I bathe my child? How will I pull on their pants while they squirm around after changing them? Or how will I push a stroller and carry my much needed coffee that day. (If you know me well, you know coffee is a must for me)
Now I know I will figure all these tasks out while I amaze others and myself. But that doesn't mean I don't wonder how I will figure it all out.
This worry is a different feeling to me because my arm has never been an obstacle. I have always figured out ways to do things and I never worried going into anything. However, I am determined as many of you know and I know that I will figure everything out. But my blog is here because I want to share what my thoughts are, I want to share the real, raw moments that I face or one day will face. And being a mum is one of those.
I know there is nothing that I can't do, and there is nothing I won't be able to do. However there are going to be things that are hard to do and difficult to do and that is just the reality of having one arm. All I have to say is I hope and pray that new strollers and car seats come out for one handed mums! I am sure there will be loads of "bad one arm days" and that's OK!
My idea for this blog came from a recent collaboration with Lily-Jade.
I was SOOO excited about this collaboration because it made me realize that there ARE products for mums to make life as a mum easier. (especially for me life as a one armed mum) . I couldn't pass this collaboration up because one day when I am a mum I will need a diaper bag suitable for my one arm life. Needless to say Lily-Jade is just that!
Lily-Jade offers a diaper bag that can transform from a bag on the shoulder to a back-pack! It is absolutely incredible!
Take a look!
Lily-Jade is going to be a life-saver for my one arm life as a mum. I won't have to worry about how I will hold a bag, push a stroller, and go to the grocery, or shopping all at the same time. Because, with Lily-Jade my diaper bag is on my back!

To my Future Children
You will be beautiful. I will grow to learn more than I could ever imagine by being your mummy. I will be so beyond blessed by you. I promise that I will love you more than you could ever imagine and teach you that God has created you perfectly in his eyes, so please never feel the need to change yourselves. Always remember to keep God in the center of your life, trust upon Him and you will see how he can take your worry and fear and toss it away.
Something I worry about most is will you be bullied at school because your mummy has one arm, because your mummy looks different?
I don't know the answer to this, but if they say something mean just ignore. Trust me, I've dealt with the bullies my whole life. If they stare at me in public let them stare. No one can blend in when we were all born to stand out.
Through all the hard times I know that God is in control and he has my back and yours.
What I do know is that you will be able to understand all types of people and that is something that is very rare. I know you will be strong, courageous, and loved by so many.
I don't know you yet, but I know God has an incredible plan for my life and yours and I can't wait to one day be your mummy.

"We are all created imperfectly perfect by God, we should be proud of our imperfections and differences, they make us who we are today but do not define us, know that you are beautiful and remind yourself of this everyday."
